Since the 90s, my annual spiritual retreat to Featherock has been a journey into silence. Away from the city’s frantic pace, I found an unexpected sense of peace among the roaming cattle.

That fascination eventually moved from the pasture to my palette. I paint my “Bessies” to bottle that country solace and bring a piece of the quiet back to the noisy world.
You don’t need a sprawling field to find serenity. Sometimes, you just need to channel your inner Bessie – ground your feet, take a breath, and let the world rush by without you.
